Just seen the other thread.

I repeat.... RIP Tony son.

I loved this kind of band. Working class geezers playing with energy and having a laugh. West Ham fans too.

That just leaves Iron Maiden?

Re: Tony Van Frater - Rejects
I heard about this yesterday, I met him at Sunderland away this year. A mackem mate had recommended a pub and as we wandered around we walked in a cab office and Tony took us in his taxi to the pub.

Only a 10 minute encounter but what a lovely bloke. Had a laugh about a gig I'd seen him play at the Astoria and he was talking about his days in London spent in the Lord Stanley. He told us which pubs in Sunderland were safe and which ones to avoid

RIP

Re: Tony Van Frater - Rejects
I know it was years before he joined the band, by I always enjoyed a story from one of the Madness mob I read about how them, the Lambrettas and The Rejects were all playing on Top of The Pops once back in the day.

They heard someone shout at them "Oi Chelsea cunts", before turning to see the Rejects there who then steamed into Madness for a fight.

4 against 13, ha ha, fucking loonatics.

Is this the geordie bassist who's been with the Rejects for years? That's a damn sad story. He was no age to die.
